Pre-requisites

 

Learners must have:

  • ES WPLN Level 5 OR GCE ‘N’ Level English Grade 5 and
  • Mathematics Grade 5; AND
  • Possess WSH Skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH; AND
  • Have at least 1 year of WSH relevant working experience AND
  • Completed 2 Pre Requisite Modules

 

Course Outline

 

Module 1. Supervise Construction Work for WSH [Pre-requisite module]

  1. Explain and interpret salient WSH legislations and other requirements relevant to the construction industry
  2. Describe the WSH duties and responsibilities of a supervisor in the construction industry
  3. Assist in safety and health planning and organisation at the worksite
  4. Identify WSH hazards, evaluate and control risks in the construction industry in accordance with risk management process
  5. Carry out WSH inspections in accordance with organizational inspection procedures
  6. Conduct an incident investigation and prepare a report in accordance with legal requirements and other organisational requirements

 

Module 2. Problem Identification L3 [Pre-requisite module]

  1. Sources from which symptoms of potential problems may be identified
  2. Possible sources of problem
  3. Ways to identify impact of a problem on one’s job responsibilities and other parties involved
  4. Procedure for evaluating selected ideas for problem-solving
  5. Factors to consider in selecting suitable modes of communication
  6. Methods to determine the strengths and limitations or constraints of each selected idea
  7. Areas of impact from implementation of an action plan
  8. Types of corrective actions
  9. Reflective mechanisms for the entire problem-solving process.

Upon meeting attendance requirements and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive an e-Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
