Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the types of security / criminal threats and prevention methods to mitigate them.
  • Appraise the types of cyber and online threats and the prevention methods to mitigate them.
  • Evaluate potential security / criminal threats to premises, persons and operations.
  • Analyse exposures through assessment of threats, vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Create risk profiles through estimation of associated loss or impact on facilities should threats occur.
  • Develop security measures to mitigate risks and reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Communicate crime prevention safeguards to relevant stakeholders.

 

Pre-requisites

 

The admission requirements are:

  • Minimum 1 year of industry related working experience
  • Pass in English in Secondary or High School education or equivalent

  • Common Modus Operandi Used in Scam, Cheat, Fraud, and Phishing
  • Identify Theft and Protecting Your Privacy

 

Learning Unit 3: Potential Security Threats to Premises, Persons, and Operations.

  • Crime Prevention Enabler: Physical Security.

 

Learning Unit 4: Threat, vulnerability, and risk assessment

  • Crime Prevention Enabler: Threat, Risk, Vulnerability and Assessment.

 

Learning Unit 5: Crime Prevention Initiatives

  • Crime Prevention Enabler: CPTED
  • Crime Prevention Enabler: Travel Security
  • Theft and Fraud Prevention in the Workplace
  • CBR Threat Awareness and Response

 

Learning Unit 6: Developing Crime Prevention Safeguards

  • Developing overall risk profiles and measures to mitigate risks and reduce identified vulnerabilities.

 

Learning Unit 7: Communication of Crime Prevention Safeguards

  • Communication methods with relevant stakeholders.

 

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

 

Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with:

 

  • Statement of Attainment (SOA) accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). SOA will be reflected as SEC-SRM-5002-1.1 Security Risk Analysis.
