Course Outline

The course integrates Reading and Writing skills and covers the following:
  1. How to get started in writing
  2. Identifying important aspects of writing
  3. Describing pictures
  4. Persuading others in writing
  5. Analysing argumentative writing
  6. Writing instructions and procedures
  7. Analysing work-related information
  8. Writing letters of job application and resumes
  9. Interpreting financial matters
  10. Interpreting insurance matters
  11. Writing business email, letters and reports
  12. Writing minutes of meeting and summaries

 

Mode of Assessment

  • All trainees for Workplace Literacy (WPL) are required to sit for a Pre WPLN Assessment to evaluate their language proficiency levels before they are recommended to the different levels for class.
  • The Pre WPLN Assessment is computer-based and consist of four components - Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.
  • After the completion of the training, all trainees are required to sit for a Post WPLN Assessment to assess their improvements.

 

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)

  • Mapped to ES WSQ - Workplace Literacy Writing (Advanced)
