Course Outline
Assess security requirements for the event
- Identify security needs and requirements for an event based on its size, type and context
- Source relevant information from event stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Analyze relevant data from information sources concerning security incidents for trends and patterns of occurrences
- Collate and document relevant issues raised
Conduct a security site assessment of the event venue
- Develop a practical checklist so that site assessment is systematic and nothing essential would be left out
- Compare actual site security performance (security system/ equipment/ access control/ building layout) against event plans (include security manpower) and document any variance accurately to meet security needs
- Identify threats that may occur at the event site including environmental factors that may impact the security and safety of personnel and property
Address security deficiencies
- Determine risk potential by analyzing relevant data and information sources
- Develop strategies to address security risks
- Propose appropriate corrective or control measures to address gaps in security
- Provide recommendations which address security deficiencies within context of the event type and scope of activities to appropriate parties for follow up actions
