At the end of the lesson will enable participants to:

  • Able to define the objectives of negotiation and identify the context and the legislation and regulations pertaining to negotiations.
  • Able to identify the different roles and responsibilities in a negotiation team and plan and be prepared with different options and outcomes to support negotiation objectives.
  • Able to apply negotiation processes and techniques to achieve desired negotiation outcomes & apply communication and conflict resolution techniques to resolve conflict during negotiation process.
  • Able to evaluate negotiation outcome against objectives in the negotiation process & refer to precedents in past negotiations to support negotiations.
  • Able to finalise negotiation and take the best possible ways to close a negotiation with win-win outcomes.

 

Course Objectives

 

This course aims at the following job roles from Wholesale Trade and other relevant industries who is able to conduct negotiations to establish win-win outcomes for the organisation.

 

Targeted job roles:

  • Business Development Manager
  • Senior Business Analyst/Senior Market Research Analyst/Senior Market Analyst
  • Sales Manager
  • Commodities Trading Manager/Senior Commodities Trader
  • Derivatives Trading Manager/Senior Derivatives Trader
  • Procurement Manager/Sourcing Manager

 

At an individual level, this course is able to help the learner to participate actively in the negotiation process.

 

At an organisation level, this course is able to help the organisation to conduct negotiations to establish a win-win outcome.

 

Pre-requisites

 

Track 1

Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with Numeracy skills at a minimum proficiency level of the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification i.e., Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level (WPLN) 6 or above.

Or

“O” Level English  – Grade B

Track 2

Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with Numeracy skills at a minimum proficiency level of the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification i.e., Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level (WPLN) 5 or above.

Or

“N” Level English – Grade B

 

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

 

Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will be issued for each module graded competent.
