Pre-requisites

 

There are no specific prerequisites for this Leading SAFe course, but it is recommended that participants have some knowledge or experience in agile methodologies and principles. Familiarity with Scrum and Kanban is also beneficial, but not strictly required.

It would be helpful for the attendees if they have some prior experience in leading or participating in large projects or programs as the course focus on leading large projects/programs using SAFe.

This course is also beneficial for professionals who are responsible for leading organizational change and implementing SAFe in their organizations, as well as those who are preparing for the Certified SAFe Agilist certification exam.

This course can be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download

2 Days / 16 Hours (including 1 hour of assessment)

 

Course Outline

 

Day 1:

  • Introduction to SAFe and its principles and practices
  • Establishing team and technical agility
  • Coordinating large, multi-site and multi-team programs
  • Breakdown of SAFe roles and responsibilities
  • SAFe governance and program execution
  • Lean-Agile principles and practices at the program level
  • Managing and executing program increments and program backlogs
  • Hands-on exercise: Program Increment Planning event simulation

Day 2:

  • Implementing and measuring value streams
  • Understanding the cultural change required to implement SAFe
  • Best practices for leading SAFe implementations
  • Access to the SAFe community and resources for continuous improvement and support
  • Review and Q&A session

 

Each day would consist of lectures, interactive exercises, and case studies to provide participants with a hands-on learning experience. The course would be taught by an experienced SAFe trainer, and participants would receive a course manual and other materials to support their learning.
