What's In It for Me
Self-service BI, an end-user’s ability to analyse data and create complex visual reports without the aid of someone with technical expertise, has been a growing demand in many companies as it drives productivity and efficiency. The course will walk you through the powerful features of Self-service BI using a data analytical tool.
Course Overview
The course is designed to equipped students with the basic skills needed to create visual reports with data analytics using Power BI. Upon course completion, learners will be able to consume and transform data using the Power BI desktop application, create models from raw data sources and configure Dashboards using the Power BI Service.
Course Objectives
Upon course completion, learners will be able to:
- Perform Power BI desktop data transformation.
- Describe Power BI desktop modelling.
- Create a Power BI desktop visualization.
- Implement the Power BI service.
- Describe how to connect to Excel data.
- Describe how to collaborate with Power BI data.
- Connect directly to data stores.
- Describe the Power BI analytic and visual API. • Describe the Power BI mobile app.
Pre-requisites
Required Prerequisites:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications – particularly Excel.
Suggested Prerequisites:
- Some basic knowledge of data warehouse schema topology (including star and snowflake schemas).
- Some exposure to basic programming constructs (such as looping and branching).
- An awareness of key business priorities such as revenue, profitability, and financial accounting is desirable.
- Hardware & Software
This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download
