Course Overview
Sustainability has become a salient topic in recent years as more business stakeholders such as investors and customers pay closer attention to the impact of sustainable practices on our ecosystem and business operations. A recent sustainability report by NTUC LearningHub found that more than 9 in 10 business leaders agree that it is important to integrate sustainability into their organisation’s overall business strategy.
What is sustainability in business? Sustainability refers to meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Hence, sustainability in business means understanding the effects the business has on the environment and the society and adopting business practices which enhance the positive impact or minimize the negative impact. When making decisions, sustainable businesses account for environmental and social factors in addition to economic ones.
