On completion of this module, the participant will be equipped with the necessary and relevant knowledge and skill sets in identifying and recognising the appropriate cleaning tools for cleaning different types of carpet materials. They will also learn to understand and carry out the right procedures to remove spillages and stains.

Course Outline

Types of carpet materials

• Acquire knowledge on properties of different types of carpet materials
• Learn how to recognise and differentiate each type of carpet material
• Able to characterise each different type of carpet material

Types of cleaning tools

• Identify each type of cleaning tools, equipment, chemicals and other supplies

Health and Safety procedures

• Learn about industrial health and safety standards and procedures
• Acquire knowledge of the different types and uses of personal protective equipment
• Learn to ensure safety requirements are met

Clean spillages and remove stains

• Learn about different types of spillages and stains
• Select the right tools, equipment and solutions required to clear spillages and stains
• Carry out the right procedures to remove spillages and stains

Select & Pack Cleaning Tools & Supplies

• Learn how to pack cleaning tools, equipment, chemicals, and supplies

Removal of loose dirt and debris

• Identify types of dirt and debris
• Select the tools and equipment for removing loose dirt and debris
• Choose the correct method to remove loose dirt and debris

Reinstate work area

• Inspect the work site for cleanliness and completion of job
• Check for damages on all equipment and tools
• Recording of work activities
