Participants will be able to learn how to apply workplace safety and health (WSH) policies to maintain health and safety at the workplace.
Pre-requisites
- Completed O-level and are able to speak, read and write in basic English
or
- Participants with the following competency ratings from the Employability Skills System (ESS) are eligible:
- Listening/Speaking Min. Level 5
- Reading/Writing Min. Level 5
- Numeracy Min. Level 5
Course Outline
- Recognise the applicable WSH legislative requirements and WSH other requirements includes codes of practice (CP) and organisational WSH procedures
- Determine the job and WSH objectives in accordance with organisational WSH policies, procedures and work instructions
- Arrange and organise work activities to meet WSH requirements in accordance with organisational WSH procedures
- Identify common manufacturing hazards WSH Hazards by conducting WSH checks on the workplaces
- Inform any abnormalities and problems encountered in complying with WSH requirements
- Implement the types of risk control measures includes safety devices, safety sings and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Observe the organisational emergency and evacuation procedures, in the event of emergencies or drills
