This program is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to apply hazard identification and select appropriate risk control measures for mechanical hazards in the planning, preparation and execution of work activities.
Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
- Be able to identify the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures.
- Be able to identify the roles and responsibilities of the risk assessment team.
- Be able to conduct activity-based risk assessments for mechanical hazards based on the principles, practices and procedures of risk management.
- Be able to recognise the mechanical hazards associated with routine and non-routine work activities.
- Be able to evaluate the risk level in terms of risk matrices based on severity of harm, exposure to hazard and possibility (likelihood) of avoidance ratings
- Be able to recommend appropriate risk control measures based on hierarchy of risk control measures includes safety checks on work areas, safety signs, safety devices and equipment
