You will be able to operate access control equipment, operate alarm monitoring equipment and operate CCTV monitoring equipment.

 

Pre-requisites

 

  • Able to read, write and speak English at WPL Level 3
  • Able to read a computer monitor and see at a distance
  • Possess basic skills in operating a computer
  • You will need to own a Smartphone with internet connection and QR code scanner function (this shall be used during the POLWEL assessment)

 

Course Outline

 

Operate access control equipment

  • Identify the access points of entry for different levels of authorised entry
  • Operate the access control equipment in accordance to organisation Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Report the location of unauthorised entry
  • Identify the nature of unauthorised entry
  • Carry out basic troubleshooting and report any equipment fault to the supervisor
  • Complete relevant documentation relating to the access control equipment

Operate alarm monitoring equipment

  • Arm and disarm the alarm equipment
  • Identify the type and nature of the alarm
  • Report the location of the intrusion incidents to immediate supervisor
  • Adopt basic response action in accordance to organisation SOP
  • Detect and report any equipment fault to supervisor
  • Complete relevant documentation relating to the alarm equipment

Operate CCTV monitoring equipment

  • Operate the CCTV equipment
  • Check and ensure that the recording device is working properly
  • Identify and report subject, scene, action and time captured on CCTV in accordance to organisation SOP
  • Detect and report blur, obscure or no images to the supervisor
  • Complete relevant documentation relating to the CCTV equipment

 

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

 

Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will be issued for each module graded competent. SOA reflected as SEC-TEM-2001-1.1 Access Control Management.
