Network Security Fundamentals (N|SF) is an entry-level security program covering the fundamental concepts of network security. It enables students with the skills to identify information security threats which reflect on the security posture of the organisation and implement general security controls. This program will give a holistic overview of the key components of network security. It provides a solid fundamental knowledge required for a career in network security. This course is designed for those interested in learning the various fundamentals of network security.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to;
- Understand the key issues plaguing the network security world
- Learn the fundamentals of networks and various components of the OSI and TCP/IP model
- Master the various network security protocols
- Master identification, authentication, and authorization concepts
- Decode the types of information security threats and attacks, and their countermeasures
- Learn the fundamentals of IDS, general indications of intrusion, and types of IDS
- Learn the fundamentals of firewall and firewall technologies such as Bastion Host, DMZ, Proxy Servers, Network Address Translation, and Virtual Private Network
- Understand all data backup techniques and VPN security
- Gain an understanding of the fundamentals of wireless network
